Blooming marvellous fundraising by VolkerFitzpatrick
CRASH Patron VolkerFitzpatrick has raised £1,500 through some innovative floral fundraising at their Pensbury Street site. Contracts Manager Jason Fairbrass came up with the idea to ask companies in their supply chain to sponsor a hard hat for £100.
The hard hats were then filled with flowers and displayed along the site’s hoardings. “Pensbury in bloom has been a success and real fun. We are receiving great feedback and amazing support from the supply chain and project team involved,” says Jason. “It’s brought the green fingers out of all of us and had a massive impact. Now we are looking forward to the winter theme.”
The project, located in Nine Elms SW8, will see the creation of a new Royal Mail Delivery Office and Vehicle Services Workshop. The work is being undertaken by the Special Projects Division of VolkerFitzpatrick and involves the demolition of existing buildings before constructing a new 55,000ft2 delivery office and 67,000ft2 multi-storey car park.
Mark Phillips, VolkerFitzpatrick special projects operational director said: “This project continues a 16-year relationship VolkerFitzpatrick have with Royal Mail.”
The project is due for completion in May 2017 and will achieve BREEAM Excellent.
