Two Construction News Talent Awards for BMV JV
BMV JV (BAM Nuttall, Morgan Sindall, VolkerFitzpatrick) had a lot to celebrate last week, as they were presented with not one, but two Construction News Talent Awards.
The awards celebrate the people striving to make construction a more inclusive industry, as well the businesses doing outstanding work to improve the construction industry’s reputation and employment practices.
BMV JV is currently delivering key deck repair works between junctions one and two of the M5 Oldbury Viaduct, for Highways England’s Major Renewal Scheme. The team was shortlisted in four categories and took home two awards, for ‘Diversity & Inclusion Initiative of the Year’ and ‘Best Place to Work’.
This follows a successful year for the project, which also won a Supplier Recognition Award from Highways England and a Gold Award in Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council’s Eat Out Eat Well scheme, for the high standard of catering in the on-site canteen.
Tom Fitzpatrick, editor of Construction News, said: “We are proud to recognise the people and businesses striving to improve the construction industry’s reputation and support for its workers. From promoting better health, to making the industry more diverse and welcoming of all people, our winners are setting the bar for others to follow.
“This industry needs to improve its performance on issues including diversity, the gender pay gap and mental and occupational health, while attracting future generations to consider careers in construction. Congratulations to our winners tonight, who have shown they are leading the way.”
The awards were presented at a prestigious ceremony, at the Park Plaza London Riverbank on Wednesday 21 November. See the full list of winners here.
