For our 'Best Company' shortlisting, we were able to share the key achievements that our People-Planet-Purpose sustainability framework has been pivotal in stimulating, including a 14% reduction in absolute carbon emissions, 75% of our company car fleet being electric or hybrid, 89% of our new orders being for electric or hybrid vehicles, 74% of energy procured from renewable sources, 95% of waste diverted from landfill, 1230 days of work experience placements, 10% of employees in 'earn and learn' employment, 1448 hours spent volunteering in schools, 231 hours spent supporting CV writing and mock interviews, 6% of our employees undertaking 3570 hours of volunteering and 57% of our total procurement spend being with SME's.

Planet Mark is fundamental to our journey and we're proud to have utilised their logo in two of our key initiatives; the 'School Sunflower Challenge' and the national 'Open Doors' campaign, whereby 150 students across the UK visiting our sites were handed seeds instead of traditional single use plastic items. The Planet Mark Certified Business Mark is proudly displayed on the back of every seed packet which included sunflowers, poppies, herbs and butterfly and bee mixed seeds. For the 'School Sunflower Challenge' we also provided a sunflower starter kit with an informative leaflet that educates pupils on how to grow their sunflower and a diary encouraging pupils to track the growth of their sunflowers.

The Planet Mark awards ceremony is being hosted at The Royal Institution on 2nd November 2024.  A full list of the finalists can be found here
