  • Sweet Street

    Throughout April and May 2024, VolkerGround Engineering was on site in Leeds for valuable client Winvic, installing bearing piles to enable the construction of a new student accommodation development.

  • East West Rail structures

    In 2019 VolkerGround Engineering was awarded a contract by East West Rail (EWR) Alliance (AtkinsRéalis, Laing O’Rourke, Network Rail and VolkerRail), who have been working together to deliver the East West Rail Phase 2 project from Bicester to Bletchley.

  • A585 Lodge Lane Skippool Bridge

    In Summer 2021, VolkerGround Engineering was awarded a programme of works by Kier Highways, to provide temporary steel sheet piling, Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) and rotary bored piling.

  • IPort Bridges

    In April 2023, VolkerGround Engineering was contracted by Eurovia Infrastructure Ltd to design and construct Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) bearing piles and a King Post wall. This work was done as part of the wider IPort Bridges scheme, which includes the construction of a 16.2m clear span composite deck bridge, with integral reinforced concrete abutments and wingwalls.

    Throughout July and August 2023, VolkerGround Engineering (VGE) completed works on quite an unusual site in Manchester, for Bowmer and Kirkland.

  • Piling: Lancaster Street

    VolkerGround Engineering has successfully completed a combination of steel sheet piling and Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) piling for WINVIC, in Birmingham, to enable the construction of a 25-storey student accommodation building.

    In October 2022, VolkerGround Engineering was awarded a contract by new client Eric Wright to work with them on Lightbody Street, Liverpool, adjacent to the historic Stanley Dock Complex.

    In December 2018, VolkerGround Engineering was awarded a contract to provide a combination of steel sheet piling and concrete mini piling, as part of a wider scheme to improve flood defences for the 3 Mills TV and Film Studios in East London.

  • Lucan place

    In January 2021, VolkerGround Engineering was awarded a contract by Deconstruct UK, to design and construct bearing piles and a secant wall, to assist them in the redevelopment of a former Chelsea Police station, within the London Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, into a seven-storey residential led mixed use development.

    In July 2019, VolkerGround Engineering was awarded a contract by Kier Construction, for the installation of Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) piles at Birley Fields. The piles will enable the construction of a new student accommodation building at Manchester Metropolitan University.

  • M20 J3-J5 SMART Motorways

    In October 2018, VolkerGround Engineering was awarded a £3m contract by Kier Highways Ltd to install bearing piles for the motorway signage on the M20, as part of the SMART Motorways programme.

  • Newcastle University

    VolkerGround Engineering was contracted by Bowmer & Kirkland Ltd to install Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) piles, with a contract value of £230,000.

  • Milton Keynes

    VolkerGround Engineering was employed by VolkerFitzpatrick to work on the Milton Keynes Gallagher Logistics Park project. The team installed a king post wall with pre-cast concrete infill panels.

  • M4 Junction 12-13

    As part of a £0.33m sub-contract, VolkerGround Engineering was employed by VolkerLaser to install Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) piles to provide the foundations for a crashbarrier on the M4 motorway.

  • M6 J16-19

    VolkerGround Engineering was employed by Kier Infrastructure & Overseas to work on the M6 J1619 project. Using a PVE55 CFA rig, the team installed 750mm diameter Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) piles to a depth of 22 metres.

  • Stockton

    VolkerGround Engineering has completed a project for Bowmer & Kirkland, installing Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) bearing piles and a sheet pile retaining wall at a new Hampton by Hilton hotel in Stockton-on-Tees. The works were completed using a PVE 55 and ABI TM 13/16 leader rig.

    VolkerGround Engineering was contracted by Marcus Worthington & Co Ltd. to work on the development of an accommodation block for students at the University of Lincoln.

    VolkerGround Engineering was contracted by Marcus Worthington Group to install 150no. 750mm bearing piles to depths of 13m. The works were to enable the construction of a high specification commercial property in Deansgate, Manchester. The team completed the piling using a PVE 55 rig.

    VolkerGround Engineering was employed by Interserve to design and install Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) bearing piles and contiguous bored pile walls at the new £24m Integrated Health Centre at Cardigan Bay, Wales.

    In May 2017 VolkerGround Engineering completed a £0.75m contract for Marcus Worthington Group, to undertake Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) piling and steel sheet piling works, to enable the development of 280 apartments at Newcastle’s Stephenson Quarter.

  • Meridian Water Station

    In 2017 VolkerFitzpatrick (Rail) was awarded a contract to design and construct Network Rail’s new Meridian Water train station. The station is part of London’s major ‘Meridian Water’ regeneration programme and is expected to accommodate up to four million passengers over the next 20 years.

    This contract consisted of the installation of bearing piles both vertically and raking to form the foundations of the new Rosyth Strategic Link Road Bridge.

    In January 2011 VolkerStevin was awarded the Colwyn Bay Coastal Defence Project by Client Colwyn Bay Borough Council. VolkerGround Engineering's sub-contract was for the removal of existing and installation of new sheet piles to form the re developed coastal outline adjacent to the town.
