  • Southsea Coastal Defence Scheme -Frontage 1

    With a value worth around £180m, the Southsea Coastal Scheme is the UK’s largest local authority-led coastal defence project, stretching for 4.5km from Old Portsmouth to Eastney. The scheme will help to reduce the risk of flooding to more than 10,000 homes and 700 businesses.

  • HS2 Colne Valley Viaduct Cofferdams

    In April 2021 VolkerGround Engineering embarked on its largest project to date, the cofferdams required for the construction of the Colne Valley Viaduct, on behalf of VolkerStevin, who were working with the main works civils contractor Align, a JV comprising Bouygues, VolkerFitzpatrick and Sir Robert McAlpine.

  • 3 Mills Studios

    In December 2018, VolkerGround Engineering was awarded a contract to provide a combination of steel sheet piling and concrete mini piling, as part of a wider scheme to improve flood defences for the 3 Mills TV and Film Studios in East London.

  • Project Atria

    In October 2020, VolkerGround Engineering was awarded a contract by Oliver Connell & Sons Ltd to design and install sheet piles at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge. The works were part of a wider scheme to construct a heart and lung research building at the hospital.

    Lincolnshire Lakes is a strategic regeneration development in Scunthorpe which will include the development of 7,739 new homes and recreational facilities.

  • Grosvenor Street

    VolkerGround Engineering was awarded a contract by Kier Construction, to provide sheet piling works as part of a redevelopment project in the heart of Mayfair, London.

  • Park Royal

    VolkerGround Engineering was awarded a £0.9m contract by Modebest to undertake steel piling works at Park Royal, London.

  • Strood Riverside

    In July 2018, VolkerGround Engineering commenced the installation of 9800m2 of sheet piles, to form a retaining wall to raise the flood defences in Strood, South East England.

  • Greenwich Peninsula Plot 19.05

    VolkerGround Engineering was awarded a contract to support VolkerFitzpatrick’s enabling works on the Greenwich Peninsula Plot 19.05 project. The VolkerGround Engineering team designed and constructed a package for a temporary sheet pile wall.

  • Northern Gateway Flood Defence

    VolkerStevin was appointed by the Welsh Government to complete flood prevention works, which were finished in April 2015.

  • Greenwich Peninsula Riverside Phase 2, Enabling Works

    VolkerGround Engineering was awarded the design and construct project by sister company VolkerFitzpatrick, to install retaining walls across a planned area of the Greenwich Peninsula; known to have extensive underground obstructions caused by a former power station.

  • Swans Reach, Appley Bridge

    VolkerGround Engineering was appointed by Morris Homes to design and install a permanent steel sheet pile wall to an existing residential project at Swans Reach, near to the village of Appley Bridge in Greater Manchester.

  • Luton Town Centre Transport scheme

    The Luton Town Centre Transport scheme aims to provide the missing link for the town's inner ring road system. A new link road has been constructed to provide an improved east to west route for vehicles. To facilitate this, retaining walls were required throughout the scheme to support adjacent embankments.
