Ez-Charge Park & Charge
The Park & Charge scheme across public car parks in Oxfordshire gives residents the ability to park overnight, with access to electric vehicle charging points, who have no off-street parking.

What we did
Following the project’s pilot installation of six units in Bicester in 2020, VolkerSmart Technologies installed the remaining 119 charge points in public car parks across Oxfordshire.
VolkerSmart Technologies provided 125 22Kw EV charge points designed, manufactured, and installed across 20 public car parks in Oxfordshire.
The 20 Park & Charge locations, each containing between 10 and 16 EVCP, are:
- Cattle Market and Claremont car parks, Bicester
- Curtis Place car park, Kidlington
- Windsor Street and Calthorpe Street West car parks, Banbury
- Woodford Way car park, Witney
- Black Bourton car park, Carterton
- Hensington Road car park, Woodstock
- Back Lane car park, Eynsham
- New Street car park, Chipping Norton
- Cattlemarket and Goldsmith’s Lane car parks, Wallingford
- Kings Road and Greys Road car parks, Henley
- Southern Road car park, Thame
- West St Helens, Audlett Drive and Cattle Market car parks, Abingdon
- Portway car park, Wantage
- Southampton Road car park, Faringdon.
Project successes
The team provided a full turnkey solution, including associated electrical and civils infrastructure and DNO connections were completed through our in-house ICP team. This improved efficiencies and reduced the reliance on third parties to make the electrical connections, ensuring an on-time delivery.
