We have an excellent opportunity for an Engineering Manager to join our award winning Rail business. You will be responsible for the Engineering & Design Strategy and Performance of Temporary Works on our projects, ensuring that design and engineering of temporary works is compliant with industry and Network Rail, and VolkerFitzpatrick company standards.
The role is pivotal in providing management, guidance, advice, leadership and support at all levels of the Engineering and Design process to enable us to effectively deliver Temporary Works management from the identification of need, through design to implementation on the project.
This role will be responsible for providing the feedback on engineering performance and supplier performance in Temporary Works across the Division. The role will be responsible for tracking performance (Safety, Compliance, Cost, Time) and preparing a plan for continuous improvement and the collection of information to track improvement in all aspects of temporary works management.
About you
- Relevant Engineering Degree - Civil Engineer (or equivalent discipline).
- Demonstrable experience in Rail design and construction management.
- Demonstrable experience in the management of high value multidisciplinary rail related contracts.
- Have undertaken the role of CEM on large multidisciplinary rail works for Network Rail.
- Ideally MICE or MCIOB combined with a strong engineering back ground.
- Management of the implementation of significant temporary works on projects
- Significant managerial and technical experience with a fundamental understanding of the design process and particularly the temporary works requirement..
- Demonstrable experience of working within a Construction environment at a senior level and has a considerable profile of working within the industry.
- Demonstrable experience of building, leading and managing high performing teams of engineers in a matrix organisation with an emphasis on developing engineers and supporting their progress within an organisation.
- Excellent network and strong reputation within the industry.
