The role of the ICT Project Manager is to lead and drive this project to delivery in line with the business & IT strategies. Supported by a team of business analysts, you will manage multiple concurrent projects from inception to post implementation, and will undertake the day to day management, resource planning and reporting through proactive management.
In addition you will actively engage with project stakeholders, and organise and attend steering meetings. You will facilitate workshops and be an advocate for gaining consensus on systems and process alignment across the businesses.
You will have a wide range of project management experience and will have an insatiable appetite and interest in delivering projects on time, on budget and of an excellent standard by taking a pragmatic approach without compromising good programme governance.
Strong leadership and excellent communication skills are a must, as well as being able to manage challenging stakeholders and sponsors at all levels of the business. This role requires excellent change and stakeholder management skills.
Duties include;
- Lead the delivery of concurrent projects with accountability for costs, timescales and resources
- Drive & manage business transformation using a wide range of skils including technology, stakeholder management & organisational change management
- Plan and monitor multiple projects, ensuring all work is properly scoped, planned, and costed, with risks and issues identified
- Agree plans with the Project Board and submit regular highlight reports indicating progress, any deviations, risks and corrective actions
- Ensure the business analysts are managing their projects and workload effectively, producing regular progress reports and keeping risk, issue and decision logs up-to-date
- Ensure adherence to defined project governance
- Post-implementation reviews and formal project closeout
- Forming, managing and sustaining effective relationships with business stakeholders
- Ad hoc analysis, advice and guidance on business requirements
- Facilitation of project workshops
- Managing 3rd party suppliers to achieve the desired programme outcomes
- Line management and personal development of direct staff
- Distribute tasks fairly and ensure that those tasks are carried out efficiently, thoroughly and promptly to the best of the job-holder’s ability.
- Work closely with the Implementation Manager and the other ICT managers
- Regular team and project update meetings
About you
- Expertise in the end to end delivery of successful projects
- Excellent experience in working with agile methodology and TFS (Microsoft Team Foundation
- Server)
- Proven track record and experience in all project lifecycle phases
- Previous experience in IT software projects preferred
- Demonstrable experience and\or formal project management qualifications, tools and techniques
- The ability to manage multiple work streams, conflicting priorities, differing reporting lines, multi-site
- projects as well as scope change and risk
- Excellent outstanding stakeholder, people management, coaching and leadership skills
- Ability to grasp issues of a business nature and assess the technical impact, and vice versa
- Experience of managing staff either directly & within a project environment
- Team management experience.
- The ability to have a strong impact and influence key decisions
- Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills
- Prince 2 Practitioner
- ITIL
