Southern Renewals Enterprise (SRE) oversees the Southern Regions renewals programme (CP7 & CP8), a monumental £9 billion initiative set to unfold between 2024 – 2034. As part of SRE, Southern Integrated Delivery (SID) brings together industry leaders AtkinsRéalis, Network Rail, Octavius, VolkerFitzpatrick, and VolkerRail in a unified effort to drive success and innovation in programme delivery.
As the Operational Support Director, your main role is to ensure smooth collaboration and integration between Operations and Operational Support functions. This encompasses overseeing pre-construction tasks, planning, logistics, Level 1 Engineering, and closeout support. Your focus will be on driving efficient and coordinated project delivery while also providing oversight on operational delivery in conjunction with Engineering and Construction Assurance teams. Additionally, you will assist the Operations and Production Director in enhancing delivery processes for continuous improvement, facilitating a transition from construction to production-oriented methodologies.
About you
- Experienced Leader: Possesses extensive leadership experience in operational support roles, adept at unifying diverse teams towards common goals and delivering results. Demonstrated success in managing complex projects within operational environments.
- Organised: Exhibit strong organisational skills to efficiently manage multiple responsibilities and priorities in fast-paced settings. Maintain structured processes, set clear objectives, and allocate resources effectively to meet operational support needs.
- Analytical Approach: Apply a systematic and analytical approach to problem-solving and decision-making. Prioritise understanding the root cause of issues, leveraging data and insights to drive strategic initiatives for enhancing operational efficiency.
- Adaptive Detail Management: Skilled in managing detail at the appropriate level to achieve desired outcomes effectively.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the alliance. Build strong relationships, facilitate communication, and understand and manage diverse stakeholder needs to drive aligned action.
- Strategic Thinking: Possess strategic thinking abilities to support the Operations and Production Director in achieving continuous improvement in delivery processes. Contribute to long-term strategy development, identify innovation opportunities, and drive initiatives for transitioning to production-oriented methodologies from construction-centric approaches.
