A unique opportunity has arisen in VolkerRail head office in Doncaster for a Resource Coordinator to join VolkerRail Major Projects working alongside the safety critical “Rail Operations” division.
You will be responsible for:
- Responsible for ensuring the rostering of resource requirements in accordance with terms and conditions of employment, including stipulated timescales to ensure contractual requirements are delivered and avoid, as far as possible, non-productive time.
- Responsible for ensuring that staff rosters are developed in accordance with the relevant HSQE policies and procedures
- Responsible for managing the allocation of hours, ensuring correct utilisation of available resource
- Establish and maintain effective communication and manage business relationships between Rail Operations and project/functional teams and supply chain
- Provide administrative support to the Rail Operations team, as required
- Develop and maintain the proprietary rostering system to ensure information is available, contemporaneous and correct
- Responsible for the production and publication of internal reports, rosters and racecards
- Oversee the Rail Operations holiday planner and liaise with Rail Operations Management to ensure authorised annual leave correlates with forecast demand
- Attend resource/planning meetings as required by the Operations Manager
- Review forecast demand levels, identifying excessive resource requirements and escalating to Rail Operations Management.
- Responsible for the resourcing of contingent safety critical labour from supply chain, in line with business requirements and commercial agreements
- Supervise dedicated administrative assistant and oversee workload demands
About you
- GSCE Maths and English Grade C or above
- Level 3 Certificate in Principles of Business and Administration or equivalent
- Proficient at using Microsoft office applications (Word / Excel / PowerPoint) and experience in using proprietary business systems/applications
- Experience of working in the Railway Industry
- Working in accordance with the Working Time Directive and awareness of fatigue management principles
- Experience of rostering operational staff.
- Oversaw personnel to meet key business milestones, facilitate training, and streamline daily workflows.
- Fire & first aid training
- PTS
- Effective communicator with all levels of employee and contractor
- Full UK drivers’ licence
